Where Summer Fun Meets Swedish Innovation
Our collaboration with Skara Sommarland is worth mentioning considering millions of children have driven our vehicles non-stop since the opening of the park. After decades, the company contacted us again to renew the original fleet, also provided by SB International.
Located in Västra Götaland County, about a two-hour drive from Gothenburg, Skara is a charming town with deep historical roots. Surrounded by rolling countryside that was once home to Iron Age, Viking Age, and Medieval settlements, Skara offers a landscape rich in ancient monuments and peaceful beauty.
Just 8 km outside town lies one of Scandinavia’s most beloved family attractions—Skara Sommarland. Founded in 1984 by Bert Karlsson, a well-known Swedish entrepreneur, politician, and music executive, the park has grown into Scandinavia’s largest water park and a go-to summer destination for families from across the region.

A Park Favorite: Kotteland
Kotteland is the designated area for the youngest guests, and it’s a hit among families with small children. This is also where you’ll find one of the most popular attractions: the Volvo Mini Diggers, delivered by SBI Sweden.
Using intuitive lever controls, children get to operate real mini excavators in a safe and engaging environment. Since 2014, SBI has delivered three mini diggers to Skara Sommarland—further strengthening a partnership built on quality and reliability.
A Long-Standing Partnership
SBI Sweden has been part of Skara Sommarland’s journey from the very beginning. When the park opened in the mid-1980s, SBI delivered a fleet of 20 miniature cars and trucks for the park’s driving attraction. These vehicles quickly became a beloved feature of the park—and thanks to the outstanding durability of SBI’s products, they remained in operation for decades.
From the 1980s until 2017, SBI supported the original fleet with spare parts and service, ensuring that generations of children could continue enjoying the rides. Then, in 2018, the park once again turned to SBI to renew the entire fleet, this time with updated, modern models—further proof of the enduring trust in our craftsmanship.
What happened to the old cars? They can still be found in the park, used as a stationary feature of a playground next to the attraction or as decoration, while the new cars are driven by the children all day long inside the traffic city.
